NFL Flag Official League

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our league is affiliated with the NFL who partners with USA Football. When you register you will need to create a USA Football account. Everything can be accessed through our league website, go there first for announcements, team schedules, rosters, standings, etc.

Q: Why play flag football instead of tackle football?

A: Football is one of the most exciting and popular sports for kids. But whether it's because of limited size or ability, or the desire to keep from getting hurt, not all kids want to play tackle football and many parents are concerned about the violent nature of the game. Flag football has proven to be a much safer sport for kids that still includes the high action appeal of football with far less of the common injuries associated with tackle football: concussions, broken bones, sprains, and dislocations.

Q: Is there physical contact in this league?

A: This is a no-contact league, and penalties for contact will be enforced. Tackling, blocking, stiff-arming or physical contact of any kind is not allowed.

Q: What size football should my child practice with?

A: We recommend a pee wee football for K5-2nd graders and a junior football for 3rd-6th grader

Q: How much does it cost to register with Aim High?

A: We are very competitive, especially with everything entailed in our season. Our Fee is $155.00 which includes an NFL Reversible Jersey, interactive website (videos + pictures updated weekly) and Plenty of flag football FUN!

Q: Can I pay the registration fee by check?

A: We are only accepting credit and debit cards online. Please mail your check to 6609 Harness Hill Ct Centreville, VA 20121 or contact us for further options at 703-881-1105.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: Full refunds are given only if requested prior to the first game and jersey and flags must be
returned. After the first game, no refunds will be given.

Q: How are Divisons sorted?

A: The league is made up of divisions and sorted by school grade as of the school year (K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6, 7-8, Highschool).

Q: What is the length of the Flag Football Season?

A: The anticipated length of the Season is approximately 8 weeks. This will vary based on the division, and of course,
weather.

Q: What kind of equipment should my child have?

1. A mouth piece should be worn during any on-field activity
2. Shorts or pants with no pockets must be worn at all times.

3. We recommend every child wear molded or scre-in cleats only. No metal spikes.

Q: Will games be played in the rain, bad weather?

A: Games will only be cancelled if the fields are deemed to be unplayable by the field manager and any cancellations will be posted immediatly on the website as well as emailed to all the participants.

Q: My child has an older sibling, older friend or is nearly old enough to qualify for the next Age Divsion and wants to "Play Up" into the next age group- is that possible?

A: Yes. Playing up into the next age division is allowed. Since the registration system automatically places players into Divisions based on their grade, simply add a note in the "Special Requests" field on the registration form to let us know that you would like your child to play up into the next Division and we will make the change. Alternately, you may email
us your request. We do not, however, allow "playing down" into a younger Age Division, to be fair to the younger kids.

Q: How are the teams picked?

A: Efforts are made to accommodate sibling and buddy requests and in most cases are granted. An effort is also made to put
kids from the same school on the same team, while at the same time, keeping the teams fair and equally balanced based on players experience, size and athleticism.

Q: When, where, and how often is practice?
A: Practice times and locations vary by team and are at the discretion of the coach.

Q: When will I hear from my Coach?

A: You will receive an email from the league as soon as your child has been placed on a team indicating the team information, schedule and coach's information. Your coach will contact you at least one week prior to the start of the season to introduce themselves. If you haven't heard from your coach and the first game is less than a week away, please contact us for information.

Q: Does the league provide trophies

A: Yes, the league does provide trophies for all of the players.
